A Parisian Affair

Well here in Toronto, the sky is completely black but because it’s night out. NOOO it’s a rain storm that looks like it’s gonna do a lot of damage!! And can I just say, I hate rain. I find it very depressing, but as soon as Lightening is involved, then that crap is exciting! So to cheer myself up, I’m plating Here Comes The Sun while writing this.

This past week I got to see my dear friend Jess from Clothes & Shit and we explored the wonders and sites that is Kensington Market!! We had fish tacos from Seven Lives, The Big Bang Burger from The Burgernator and shopped the rack of various vintage shops like Courage My Love. It was a blast!!! I’ll do a blog post soon on my buys which entails my first ever purple dress!! And jess is such a sweetheart! About  a month ago she went to Hong Kong and the darling that she is, brought back some goodies for me ❤

When I did the shoot for this outfit, my bf’s eyes went big! And then he started asking stuff like “where’d you get those pants?” or “where’s you get those shoes?” and then said “please wear this all the time!”. Since grade 12, I have ROCKED red jeans! Ever since I read The Back to School essentials in Seventeen Mag, they said red jeans should be the staple of your year. And to me, that sounded so cool! No one at my school had ever worn red jeans or let alone a coloured pant!! I hit up Old Navy and that’s where I found them  – RED JEANS! My first ever pair of red jeans and I felt so good! I think this was the moment when I started to really take notice of my fashion choices and dared to wear things that was out of the box. I pairs some red jeans with a classic Navy/White striped tee which gave, in my opinion, a sort of modern Parisian flare. But to put it all together, I added some leopard print wedges, cause why the heck not!?

The Hippie in the Alley

The weather here has been so random lately. Last week was hot and humid and this week has been frigid and rainy!! Like the the heck Canada!?! Be consistent for once other than in winter! During those hot and humid days, I was ROCKING this amazingly fresh, hip and boho-ish outfit! I sometimes would wear it 2-3 days straight if i was seeing different people just because it was so easy to put together. And to keep it really simple on wear you ladies can find these items – they’re all at Addition Elle! NO KIDDING! Like I said, Addition Elle has really ampted up their game!!! And the fact that I get to see what comes out of the boxes on Stock Days lol doesn’t help my wallet whatsoever!

The white tank luckily enough if you aren’t fans of the white come in a whole bunch of different colours too!! Olive, Navy, Oxblood, Black and Yellow are to name a few. I’ve got the white, as you can see, and the Olive, paired with tribal print leggings looks so on point!! Last little thing about the tank is that yes my bra straps are showing and i could care less!! It was hot as heck when i wore this for it to be almost a taboo for bra straps to show, get off!

The Pants!! I’m very biased when it comes to these pants: if you want to wear pants that are appropriate for everyday wear but feel like pjs, then these are your pants!!! I could practically live in them! They’re so light, flowy, trendy and totally versatile for the summer! You can match the pants with their crop top (sold separately) like GabiFresh did or wear a simple black cami and the matching kimono works too! This print also comes on a tank top and a romper!! When Addition Elle has a good print, they maximize it by expanding its potential on different clothing items. And boy do they have a winner here!!! OOTN – Contrasting with Leather and Love

Hey all!

My my it’s been some time since my last post!! The workload and 5am clinical days have been the bane of my existence somedays, but apart from that, I am truly enjoying my program. In fact – GOOD NEWS! I’ve taken another step towards my nursing dream, I have been accepting into George Brown’s PSW Pathway to Nursing course!! It’s to start in September and is only a semester long but basically the courses are to get me ready for the chemistry, biology and anatomy that I’ll be studying for in my nursing career. And here’s the awesome catch: by the end of the semester, if I have a GPA of 3.0 or higher, I will be offered a spot into the RPN program!! I’m exactly where I want to be and it’s all working out very well! When I found out I had been accepted into the Pathway course, I played Birthday by Katy Perry for a good hour as celebration lol!

It has been sometime since I’ve posted an outfit and last night I went out with my man, Mike, to one of our fave bars for some hockey watching and beer drinking (Cause that’s what we Canadians do best!).  My outfit was a little bit kickass, a little bit angelic! Confused? Lemme show you:

I really felt like dressing up last night cause a) These were new purchases so I had to test drive them and b) I wanted to look pretty just because! The jacket is so awesome and comfortable! And also the cool thing about this jacket is that it can come in baby pink! Now really think about it, when was the last time you saw a baby pink faux leather jacket? I was considering getting the pink jacket but instead opted for the black and got a coral 3/4 sleeve open blazer so that I could still get my pink dose. What are you Saturday Night Out go-to’s ladies?? I’d love to hear!

Like Lauren said in her post, it’s snowing again. This time, we’re expecting 10-15cm of snow…*heartbreaks*. I am praying for another snow day so that I don’t need to go to clinical!!!

This gorgeous purple top is the one that got away for me!! It is totally sexy with showing just the right about of skin and colour is so luxurious! I paired it with this iridescent statement necklaces cause there are some flecks of purple in the gems and brings the top to a a fairy like feel!

OOTD – Surviving in Style

Evening all!

Hope you all are surviving this winter, cause lemme tell you, we Torontonians were buried in 20cm (about 8 inches) of snow yesterday! Take note New Yorkers, that is a certified blizzard!!! My clinical shift was cancelled (WOOOO) and my dad thought it would be a great idea, since it was 5:30 and we were already up, why not get a head start on the snow shoveling…i reluctantly agreed. I got to sleep for 5 hrs afterwards though!  And it wasn’t any prettier today with a wind chill of -20C!! It has been brutal up here in the great white north but you know what, I can handle the frigid temperatures but not with snow, that’s just a sad sad state! I WANT SPRING!! But till then, I’ll stay cozy with this pretty awesome JUNAROSE Blue Tartan Coatigan! This piece is utter heaven!! So soft, so cozy and just so perfectly chic! Plus it resonated with my Canadian roots! I paired it with my favourite Leatherette tank, bullet necklace and coral tassel earrings to give this dark outfit a pop of little colour! I took this OOTD pic while I was at work but I wore exact ensemble to clinical today to stay perfectly warm and toasty!

For this outfits song, I’m going to put in a classic, House of the Rising Sun by The Animals! I have been trying to dabble into some of the older rock the world has seen, like the The Rolling Stones, Led Zepplin, Def Leppard, and The Animals just because, let’s be honest, the music out there is starting to all sound the same.

Modelling for YBSC – Life in Red Velvet

Evening ALL! Hope you all have been enjoying your weekend! I’m very sad that the weekend is over cause I’m going to have to wake up at 5am tomorrow to go to clinical – bahhhhh! But I honestly do have to say that my placement is quiet awesome and the work is very rewarding! When you have your clients thank you for the hard work you’ve done, there’s nothing more fulfilling than that!

This is sort of a Part 2 if you would of my “Modelling for YBSC” if you would and this shoot was highlighting one of their most popular holiday dress – a red velvet skater dress! IT WAS LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT! There was a peacock blue skater dress too that Jess from Clothes and Shit ADORED! I was so excited to do this shoot cause I got to wear this beautiful dress and also, let’s be real, who doesn’t enjoy a little photo shoot – am I right?? So let’s get to it! Evening ALL! It has been some time since I’ve posted my going-ons, so lets just jump right into it! Back in December, my lovely bosses at Your Big Sister’s Closet asked if i could model a few outfit ideas for their facebook group. I JUMPED INTO ACTION!! Everything in the three shoots I did is all from YBSC (yes, they’re that good!).  For our first Outfit, the owners were going for a Cool Hipster vibe and this is what we came up with together! Now how awesome is my job!? I get to model this awesome merchandise and also discover new brands such as JUNAROSE, an awesome company set in Denmark and lemme tell you, the girls and I at the store are OBSESSED with their stuff! We are jumping in our seats till we start getting their spring/summer line in store! I currently own 2 (or 3) JUNAROSE dresses and I have another on my holds rack back at work (take a look from my Instagram here) and actually in my 3rd segment of this series, you’ll see one of my dresses. And truth be told, i walked by it for months in the store until i tried it on for this shoot and i fell in love and got it the next day!!!

OOTD: Modern Cherry Blossoms

Bonjourno everyone! Hope your week has been as crazy in all the good ways as it has been for me! Week 2 of PSW has treated me very kindly: got to leave an hour early from my lecture yesterday, got a new phone (YES – goodbye Blackberry Curve, hello Samsung S5!) I made a new friend whom i adore immensely, got a 100% on my anatomy quiz today and just did an online test with 3 chapters worth of info and got 83% – fact: i’m secretly a genius! Not really but i’m just super proud of myself 🙂 This weather has been kind of crappy up here in Toronto this past week and so to help brighten up my mood and hopefully my classmates, I BROKE OUT SOME FLORALS! And before you say “wha?? Florals for fall? She must be mad!” BUT technically it’s still summer so ha! My floral choice was a Cherry blossom printed kimono from H&M. I LOVED IT THE FIRST TIME I LAID MY EYES ON BUT, this always happens, i love an item in store, buy it and then it sits in my closet for almost months before i wear it…trust me i’m not exactly proud of it. So like i said, i wore florals to try and get every bodies moods a little higher and paired it with my super high waisted jeans to lock and load the belly goodness, et voila!
